Greetings!

I've got a Canon S900 that I use to crank out the occasional 4x6 or 8x10 print. I'm using the stock Canon ink and the high end Canon Photo Paper Pro for my prints. I've noticed that the prints I create with the above supplies and equipment seriously fade after a few weeks - so much so, that I've considering getting rid of the printer and just running down to Costco (1.6 miles away) when I need a batch printed (those Noritsu's rock).

So - any of you experience this? Is there some way I could be causing this? Is this as good as it gets? Let me know - I find it hard to believe that this is all there is...

Two things come to mind quickly. 1 would be using old or out dated paper that hasn't been stored properly......and 2 would be old ink.

Canon recently updated their packaging for their Photo Paper Pro product. The old package had an overall sunset-type color scheme (I think), where the new package has a red over white bolder design with an overlayed photo of a sunset. So, I've got a recent product. I've stored it in my home office @ 62-68 deg., so that's probably OK.

I'll order new ink and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the idea - I never would have thought that ink would go bad.

I have the same setup(ink, paper, printer) and haven't had any fading issue yet, including a couple of 5x7 prints that are hung on a wall and subject to quite a bit of light(though no direct sun). I don't have a suggestion offhand, just wanted to let you know that you should be able to make it work.
