View Full Version : Misc. Questions...

I have a handful of misc. questions that I've gathered over time and only now am getting around to asking...

1. Is it possible to have some images within a gallery available for sale but not others?

2. Is it possible to do a bulk reload of all images (same file names) in a gallery without losing the descriptions, etc?

3. How many words/characters can fit in the keywords field?

4. Is it possible to have the max height of images in portrait orientation equal the max width of those in landscape orientation? (in other words, not have portrait shots reduced in height an extra amount to fit within the height of a landscape shot)

5. Is there a plan for us to be able to co-brand the shopping cart, in addition to a pro website?

6. On the bulk captioning page, adding the keywords red blue green, then pressing the preview button adds "red blue green" in quotes as shown to the selected images. Does this mean that each image gets three keywords or one keyword phrase "red blue green"? If the former, then it contradicts the keywords help page, if the latter, it's a bug.

7. A request...could the number of thumbs/columns of thumbs shown in smugmug view be made adjustable?

Thanks a lot...

I have a handful of misc. questions that I've gathered over time and only now am getting around to asking...

1. Is it possible to have some images within a gallery available for sale but not others?

yes - you'll have to price at the image level though.

2. Is it possible to do a bulk reload of all images (same file names) in a gallery without losing the descriptions, etc?

No, I'm sorry.

3. How many words/characters can fit in the keywords field?

Good question, I'll ask.

4. Is it possible to have the max height of images in portrait orientation equal the max width of those in landscape orientation? (in other words, not have portrait shots reduced in height an extra amount to fit within the height of a landscape shot)

-L should be 800 px on the longest side
-M should be 600 px on the longes side

could you show a gallery with different sizes? :ear

5. Is there a plan for us to be able to co-brand the shopping cart, in addition to a pro website?

No, I'm sorry. The cart won't be co-brandable - it's got to remain in our control, for security, and transaction reasons.

6. On the bulk captioning page, adding the keywords red blue green, then pressing the preview button adds "red blue green" in quotes as shown to the selected images. Does this mean that each image gets three keywords or one keyword phrase "red blue green"? If the former, then it contradicts the keywords help page, if the latter, it's a bug.

let me check, thanks.

7. A request...could the number of thumbs/columns of thumbs shown in smugmug view be made adjustable?

No, sorry it's not adjustable.

Smugmug style has different sized pics for landscape vs portrait...

Landscape:
http://photos.mikelanestudios.com/gallery/409089/1/22587619
600px wide by 400px tall

Portrait:
http://photos.mikelanestudios.com/gallery/409089/1/16334295
300px wide by 450px tall

I think sberly means that it'd be nice to have all photos be the same size irrespective of the orientation. (I think that the smugmug gallery is the only one that does this though.)

Mike,

Do you have any control over the sizes, for example, could you make the portraits longer, or is Smugmug doing it all?

ps. great photos!

Steve
