wow, interesting images! I think it would be interesting to see a feather texture applied to the skin, may seem obvious, but I kept wanting to see that.
how'd you do that anyway?

The feather idea is an excellent one. Thank you.
I created this image by taking a photo of my wife's hand holding an egg and selected it out from the background. Use whatever selection method you prefer. I used channels. I then placed a photo of the grass-like texture over the base image and set the layer blending mode to color burn. Tweaked it with levels. Made duplicate layers of the hand and free transformed them to my liking. A few more minor adjustments and that was it.

That IS pretty cool. I also like the idea of the feather texture to go with the egg. Interesting shot regardless.

I'm always so scared of layers. The blending modes are always what gets me... color burn will make it seem to "adhere" to the base layer (ie, the hand), eh? I'll try it.
