I took these a couple of weeks ago. The Lowndes High School Vikings won the AAAAA Georgia State Championship game here in Valdosta, GA. The lighting was terrible, but a few turned out ok.
The Vikings had a very strong running game, led by this young man.

Nice job, Thomas :thumb - I like the first one the most. Looks like you were using flash? And what lens?

Thanks for looking. The EXIF on that one shows f/2.8 1/320 ISO 1600 and I still had to use flash (E-TTL) I had a 300mm 2.8 mounted.

Thomas,
Nice work (as usual)!
Don't they play under lights for night games in Valdosta??:D

I hear Valdosta releases their monster players back into the swamp after every game! :D Just kidding.
Great football tradition in Valdosta going back at least 30 years.
I shot a U of Florida football practice a few months back and found the passes to be tricky. You don't expect the receivers to jump that high! So I cut the football out a few times. Live and learn.
The exposures are excellent, especially good considering the high school stadium lighting. You overcame that obstacle very well!

Thanks for looking Mitch & Saxon. The lighting at the rival HS (Valdosta Wildcats) is much better. I have found that the 300 is much more difficult to frame than when using my 70-200, but when you get a good one it really rocks & you don't have to really crop much.
