The Boston Phoenix used my shot of Damian Woetzel for its review.

It's not The New York Times, but it's cool.

BTW, I don't like their crop, but I suppose you have to get used to that with photojournalism. For the record, here's what I gave them:

That's great! Definitely good to see some reward out of those terrific shots. I've definitely enjoyed them.

But in the newspaper business it's all about advertising, then it's all about the copy, and then it's how much room is left for the photo! But the photo editor could have cropped it better.
For newspaper and advertising it's always better to leave plenty of room around the subject -- totally opposite what we are trained to do as photographers. And that's why the 100s of photos the pros take -- vertical, horizontal, close, middle, near...
But in your case you didn't have any "do overs." Your Nutcracker series is really wonderful.

I am soooo impressed. :wow Your whole Nutcracker series is amazing and it seems absolutely fitting that at least one of your photos is being appreciated by a larger audience. (I'll bet that others will find homes too.) I'm doing my part by going around telling everyone to check out the Phoenix so they can see a fabulous photograph by a someone I "know"! :rofl Congratulations!!
