Here are some of my pix from the trip Steve and I took down to the Cosumnes River Preserve and the Nimbus fish hatchery (near Sacramento). It's a little humbling walking around with Mr. Fancy Pants and his brand new 500 f/4.0L - people would see his gear and say "Wow, cool lens", then see mine and say "Well now, isn't that a cute little lens". Anyway, here are some of my pix.
(I will say though, looking at Steves pix and mine will show a good comparison between a long prime vs a zoom; oh yeah I guess technique comes into play somewhat, not just the equipment).
Thanx for looking. Kevin.

Very nice photos, Kevin!

I love the cranes! I wonder what Steve did with them, I love yours.

ginger (I love early morning..............except it is difficult enough for me to get out, but to get my husband out, too. He does it for work?)

Thanks everyone (Steve excluded) for the comments.

Jeff- if you're ever in Sacramento this time of year, check out the Nimbus fish hatchery. There was a continual parade of the salmon jumping.

Steve: 'Box camera (lens)' ??? http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/umph.gif Lets just hope you have that new lens insured by the time we go shooting again -- you never know when an unfortunate accident might occur http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/rolleyes1.gif
