We dug out our old telescope tonight for our 10 year old. He is sooooo excited by the whole process. He came in, grabbed the 707 and tried to get a photo through the scope. Now I remember people having adapters between their telescopes and cameras. Anybody remember those, and know where I might get one?

Here is a page on how to make one.

It ends with advice on using a pipefitters vise.

You could also try just using your camera set on a tripod into the eyepiece.

Depends how good your telescope is. Start with the moon. A good eye piece will make all the differance. The one that come with scopes need upgraded asap.

Depending on the camera, you can use a small thread on adapter that allows
you to replace the eyepiece with the camera.

I bought one of these to use with my Coolpix 950. Works great.

Looks a bit like this:

You might also see of the eye cup for an eyepiece threads off. If it does,
there's a slight change you can thread the eyepiece onto the camera and
let 'er rip.

Good luck!
