I went to the parks this morning, It was really cold, and I didn't have the proper shoes for tropming about in the snow. I hoped to shoot some deer from the car window, but the edges of the road were not plowed. I didn't want to risk getting my small car stuck in the 10 inches of snow on the roadside. I missed a shot of 4 does crossing the river which was covered with snow and ice. :wxwax

I decided to head up by the bird feeders to see if there were any birds about. There were. I will share some more later, but I thought I would post up a couple of shots of the first birds I saw. A downy woodpecker that was coming and goinf from the feeder.

Nice shot:thumb Getting a bird with all that white next to white and keeping the detail like you did seems would be fairly difficult?

It wasn't to bad. The sky was very bright and they were backlit, but the flash did a nice job of filling the light. The sky is blown, but I didn't mind that at all.
