Greetings all,

I have been told I am getting a printer for christmas :clap and I have to choose the one I want.
The budget is around £150 but I will match it so I'm looking at around £300.

Any suggestions?
Am considering the Epson R1800.

Cheers,
Crispin

Hey, I have the R1800 and I LOVE IT. I recently met with about 30 other wedding photographers and brought my portfolio. They were all very impressed with the quality of prints and paper (besides the ones that actually used the same printer). Hope this helps!

Oh, and the luster paper is the best!

So far that's what I have heard.
I like the fact that it's single tanks and they have a grey tank.
How do B&W prints come out? Any colour cast?
I had a cannon that printed BB&W nicely. (BBW: Black, Blue and White) :scratch

I think it may be a bit higher than that.

Ive still got a receipt from last year where i bought a coke & a glass of house wine for my wife & it was $25 000.

Hey Crispin, Sorry about the delayed response. Yes, it prints B&W well. I have had trouble with the glossy paper. But I don't really like glossy anyway! Are you gonna get it?

Yup, me thinks me will get it.

Trying to tell myself that I don't need an A3 printer and that A4 is fine but A3 is sooo much cooler :D.

How's the ink consumption? I like the fact that it has single tanks and even they are not to expensive.

The R1800 has a print of "5760 x 1440 optimised dpi" on A3.
The Canon MP500 has 9600 x 2400
The Canon iP8500 has 4800 x 2400

Seeing as I will mostly be printing at A4 or less, would the mp500 not be a better buy?
If the DPI on the Epson is lower than that of the canon, would the print not be pixelated? Even worse considering it's a A3.

Help! :dunno

Cheers,
