I saw this thread (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1032&message=9926364) on dpreview. It links to Canon USA and has a few interesting items on it.
20D
A95
10-22 EF-S lens
G6 (looks like 7.1 mpx)
S70
No 1Ds mkII is listed, but it may not be ready for prime time yet. Last time it was not available for a couple months.
I wonder what the 20D specs will be. None of this is confirmed, it just happens to be images posted on Canon's website.

Hey, I like tha 10mm-22mm lens. Bummer it's only for the 1.6 mag cameras.
And how about a nice, compact 1200 lens? (http://www.usa.canon.com/templatedata/pressrelease/images/hiRes/HiRes_EF1200_56LU_C.jpg) (huge image link.)

I wonder if Canon is finally going to support write acceleration? It takes SO LONG to write big RAW files to CF without it. I also wonder if there will be a noticeable noise issue, given 33% more pixles but with the same imager size as a 10D/300D. No doubt the smaller imager is helping keep the price reasonable.
This looks like a big step up from my 300D.

for a 1.3x in the 20d. that's really what i'm after, so it looks like i'm gonna have to go for the mk2.
bummer, becuase i don't really need the big buffer and sports-speed of the mk2.
ah well....

Seems like there has been every time so far, doesn't it? :nod

Links don't work anymore (except Sid's). IIRC, this has happened before: Canon will "accidentally" post a carrot on a stick to stoke the fire and let the rumors fly, and then will take it offline. Accident my butt.

:nod They pulled the same trick earlier this year. "Accidental" posting on a French site, I think it was.

Waxy - There is a full scale multi-page review now at dpreview here
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0408/04081909canon_eos20d.asp But they stayed with the APS sensor - darn it. Read the review - sounds like a very nice camera if they did not increase the noise by decreasing the pixel size.

There is at least some hope. :) They mention several things that should make the fear of increased noise unfounded. DIGIC II, improved micro lenses that let more light on each sensor, improved NR algorithm, etc. Maybe there won't be more noise after all. Might be a great steup up from the 300D for me. :)

ah well....Andy,
Interesting comment. I wonder why you like the 1.3x. There are advantages to the 1.6x, i.e. longer effective focal length without the increase in f stop. Also, it looks like the wide angle issue will be addressed by lens designed especially for the 1.6x cameras. I wonder if Canon is planning on keeping the 1.6x line for a while.

The 580EX is said to replace the 550EX and is supposed to have a higher guide number. I posted a little more information about the 20D here

My guess would be yes, given the two new EF-S lenses. I think the EF-S requires the smaller mirror, which I think is not possible with a 1.3X or 1.0X sensor.
