migrating geese, almost frozen pond, selectively desaturated all colors but red and yellow, then did a curves and shadow/highlight adjustment.
thoughts?

Thats a great shot ann. What about it in B&W ? The low colours that you have suit it as its just the one colour which i like in a shot.
Funny to see because its 6.30 am here & nearly 80f with humidity throught the roof.

Cool shot :rofl (pun).
I like that there are 19 geese looking left, and the one on the right is looking the other way. I wonder what that one goose sees?
Yes, there is another goose in the middle / background also looking right. Could be cloned out though, just to reinforce the irony.

Makes me shiver but after living in Florida anything with a hint of winter makes me shiver. Excellent shot.

Hi Ann,yep it makes me shiver. So does stepping outside. It wont be long before we have to plug in our cars, something our friends to the south dont have to worry about.I havn't seen any waterfowl around here since Nov 1st.This was from then and my last waterfowl shot of the year.I realy like how the one goose in your shot is looking the other way from the others, its "thinking outside the box"cool.
Similar colors in this shot.

Thanks, Snaphappy!
David, I too was drawn to include that loner goose on the end. In actual fact there were probably a hundred other geese at the left (north) end of the pond, and several groups coming in for landings - that is what I think he was looking at. Of course there was a seagull around too - maybe he was threatened by the seagull.......
invasion of the french fry snatchers..........
Thanks Harry!

Hi ice - I love your shot! Excellent!
There are still geese by the river - fly by the house daily. On Remembrance day there were so many geese - must be a flood plain that I don't know about - that when they took off together they sounded like a train!! Just amazing. I beleive the smarter ones took off and the stragglers are perhaps members of the permanent community here.
