There is one on Ebay I asked if it has IS the answer was no, does anyone know if this lens is good or not is it worth bidding

I have heard that the non IS is sharper.

Thanks for the info John i'm going to put a low bid a see how it goes if i don't get it i will get a new IS version

IS is nice. I would love to have it for the 400 5.6

A lot of what I shoot with on my 300 f/4.0, I use IS because the shutter speed is often around 200 or less.

Examples of shots I would not of gotten without noise from a higher ISO. Cick on pic for exif.

Those are great shots IS is nice. I would love to have it for the 400 5.6
