I was bored last Friday nite. It was dark (duh), raining and cold. I wanted to work on the challenge, so I got my flashlight and went on a leaf hunt. The trees are just now starting to change here in the land of corn, soybeans and brown, but my Gum tree is always one of the first. I arranged the leaves 100 different ways and took tons of shots. Suddenly, the sound of the rain on the tin roof of my farmhouse gave me an idea. I filled a pie pan with water, placed the leaves in the bottom and started shooting.

I really don't know what to do with this in PS, because I'm so new at it. This is my first posting of a picture here, but I would like critique or advice on how to improve this shot.

I also think this is over the file size limit for the challenge. I'm not exactly sure how to get it down without losing quality. I've used Paint Shop Pro for a few years, but not for photo processing. If anyone has a good tutorial they can point me to on resizing, etc, please let me know. I have PS CS2 now.

I tend to have trouble with getting sharp focus on my 828, but I think this time it's because it's in water.

I love stop action and yours is the greatest. Miz Wiz thought it was an ash tray until I pointed oud the droplets. Great shot. I use PSPX now, but in previous versionas well as this one, I alwaus used the Web tools for the JPEG compression. It shows a before and after compression image and size. I find that somewhere between 10% and 25% gives the correct size and an acceptable image.

Great shot, go for it!

Thanks Wiz
It was a lot of fun shooting these. Monday I got my new macro lens and I can't wait to try a few shots with it. Who knows what I'll get.
I've not tried PSPX, but I've changed over to PS from PSP9. I guess I never learned PSP properly, because then PS would be easier for me to learn. :rofl

Great way to adapt to the conditions mother nature dealt you! And one helluva good result. http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Thanks so much. It's so much fun learning what this 828 can do. It was just one of my crazy experiments that went well. Most don't. LOL

I find myself getting in a rut on what to shoot and if I've inspired you to be creative and take some unusual shots - YAY, I did a good job.:clap

Thanks so much,

Dana
