Whenever I have ever pointed a DNS entry it has always been to an IP address, not to a http address as I don't even think you can do this.
So is there an IP Address that I would use point my old site to that you could provide me?
Thanks,
glenn

Hi Glenn,
As I and many others have done, you edit your CName record with your registrar. There's lots of info here in this smugmug help page (http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts). The reason it's not good to point to a specific ip address, is that with multiple data centers, i.p. addys can change - and thus you'd be out until you changed to a new i.p. address. so, as per the help page, we recommend ediiting the CName record to gshutter.smugmug.com. There are specific instructions in that link I provided.
Hope this helps,
