I like the SpoonMan theme... is Smugmug going to post more themes anytime soon?
I guess I should really get off my duff and build some myself huh?

I'm working! I'm working!
:D
I've got two ideas bouncing around in my head and I'm beginning work on one of them already (some results will be up tonight). Be warned, it's very early stage stuff, it'll look really bad until I finish it up.
It'll be up at http://mikelane2.smugmug.com/
Not every idea I think of is a winner...
Big web guy is also working on themes. His latest is at http://bigwebguy2.smugmug.com. It's a baby theme.
There is a wedding theme that has been submitted (its in this room somewhere) but no words (at least to me) if smugmug has accepted it.

how do we share these things? It would sure be nice if we could edit and upload multiple .css files to our site and choose them by gallery or entire site.
Whaddya thing Smugmug?:thumb

If you're in to designing themes, you can write to help@smugmug.com and they'll hook you up with another smugmug account to use (just like Lee and I have).
Alternately you can create themes on your own site and use them in specific galleries and point people to various galleries to show off your themes.

Actually - that is no longer needed. You should be able to edit themes using your account tools. Just create a test gallery and assign the theme you are building to it.

Do themes over-ride or augment manually-created custom header, css, etc?
as one example, if I try out a theme, will the elements that I've {display:none}'d start showing?
Do they over-write manually-created custom header, css, etc?
if I try out a theme will I loose all the work I've done or will it re-appear when I turn the theme off again?

Make a test gallery, and put some pics in it. Now try the different themes, it won't hurt your co-branding.
You can, also, preview sitewide themes, give that a try it's wonderful.

I have been trying on a test gallery and nothing has been working(of cource, I know little about css. trying to read and learn). Is css different from you home page? Do you have to override some things in your home page? Thank you
