Hey guys,
Been away for a while. Busy, busy, busy.... Only had time to look at the boards off and on. There has been some lovely shots posted last couple weeks. Finally have a bit of time to post again. So I'd like to share a few shots from this last week.

The Sandhill Cranes are on the yearly migration. This is the first time I've gone to look at them. Very cool looking and very NOISY birds. These were taken near the Cosumnes Nature Preserve.

And one of our chickens was feeling sad that I never take pictures of her, so for her sake:

Excellent shots Steve. I really like the sandhill shots. Down here in Florida we have sandhills walking past our backyards. :D

Thanks Harry. Sandhills in your backyard eh. I only had to drive 3 1/2 hrs to see these guys :cry. Makes me jealous of your wetlands. It rained here once too :):

Isn't the chicken a rooster?

I am only a product of the suburbs, but it looks like I always imagined a rooster to look.

Love the cranes! Don't mind Harry, he has everything in his backyard.:rolleyes

No the chicken is a Hen. Some of the hens get pretty developed combs and wattles, if I had a rooster of this breed to compare to the rooster would have even a larger comb and wattle.

Glad you liked the cranes. :D

Thanks Jeff.

I plan on going down again next month. Supposedly there will be thousands of them during late November through January. I think it will be well worth another drive.
