okay gurus, here's one for you:

a non-profit group using smugmug (http://abroadview.smugmug.com/) has the need to receive many many hundreds of photos via the email option. they want their captions in a specific format. i'm wondering if it is possible for them to create some sort of html email that the students would then fill out (boxes?), forward to their smugmug account. the idea being that the captions would already be formatted with <html>blahde-blah caption etc </html> when they land in their smugmug email acccount, thus eliminating the need for editing each caption.

clear as mud? looking for help, ideas :ear
i've passed this thread link to the group's student web designer, she'll be watching the replies.

thanks in advance

I would also be interested in this. I tried to do something like it to collect pictures of my wedding from friends and family.

Nearly everyone who said they sent in pictures had some sort of trouble. I think I got like 8 pictures total!!

I even created a mailto link like this:

mailto:???@email.smugmug.com?subject=PASSWORD&body=<Type Your Name Here>

I wanted the caption to be their name so that I could figure out who sent it in. I don't know if the problem was on smugmug's side, or on the SMTP server they were using, but it just didn't work that well. I don't know how many pictures people will be uploading at one time, but make sure you test it out to make sure it works!!!

What was annoying for me is that this guest upload feature was one of the things that influenced my decision to go with smugmug. I've been very happy with smugmug, but this is one "feature" that doesn't work as well as I was hopeing.
