Anyone ever use google site maps (http://services.google.com/marketing/links/AS-PTOOLS-SITEMAPS-US)? Google says this about site maps:
Google Sitemaps is an easy way for you to help improve your site’s representation in the Google index. It's a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google. You get a smarter crawl because you can provide Google with specific information about all your web pages, such as when a page was last modified or how frequently it changes.

Sounds interesting to me. More tools here (https://services.google.com/inquiry/publishertools?hl=en_US).

Ok, I am willing to admit I may be decending into the stone age here. But I just don't get it. Why would I care to go through the trouble to upload/share my favorites? What's the point? What does it do for me?

It allows access to your favorites anywhere. I used something like this a long time ago for work, before USB drives became popular and allowed me to transfer data.

Say you're at someones home and you know of a cool new site that they should see and you can't remmebr the name. BAM, go to the site housing your favorites and it's there.

It's also nice as a community thing. Seeing other friends or colleagues favorites may allow you to find sites you never knew about.
