View Full Version : Too many sticky threads?

I'm looking for other opinions on this topic. I like to browse by this forum and check for new threads or activity in old threads. It used to be, I could just hit a bookmark and glance at the screen. Now we have so many sticky threads in this forum that I have to scroll in order to see if there are new threads or how many new threads there are. It's not the end of the world, but it's a little annoying to not be able to see all or most of the new traffic threads on the first screen. If others would like to see this fixed too, then maybe we can combine or remove some of the current sticky threads.
Of course, some screen space could also be retrieved by removing or shrinking the non-functional banner at the top of the screen too. That would add almost four new threads to the non-scrolled view.
Anyone else like to see a change in this area?

jfriend, dutchie, bwg, rainforest (and anyone else)
you guys have all been great - helping others out, and posting lots of great stuff. could y'all work together and make this forum even better, by organizing the sticky situation?
take a look at the dgrin support forum for an idea....

what do you mean "non-functional" banner at top of the screen? I meant that the banner provides no functional, forum reading benefit to anyone. It's purely cosmetic and it takes up 3-4 threads of vertical space.
In looking at it further to answer your question, I just figured out that it contains a rotating set of pictures - presumably smugmug images - something I never realized until today. That's a nice cosmetic touch, but I'd rather have 4 more threads on my screen.

john: those are images that have been taken by dgrinners, and we are a photography forum. i can't imagine taking them down :lol3 in fact, if you float your mouse, you'll see that the dgrinner's name is there, too. you do know you can page forward in each forum, don't you?

Hmmm, can we all submit pics for the picture bar?

it's a nomination thing. when folks see an outstanding photograph, they've been nominated to me and i get 'em up on the banner (eventually).
