I'm headed to Amsterdam tomorrow, and I'm looking for some local knowledge about interesting photo locations. I'll be staying near the center of town, and I'd like to do as much shooting as possible within walking distance of less than 45 min.

I'm primarily interested in exteriors and architecture.

If anyone knows the city, I'm just looking for some tips on good angles, bridges or other interesting perspectives.

thanks in advance,

KV

That has a bunch of interesting shots all in itself. The train station is right there, the Boat Motel is right there( Just kidding on the Boat Motel,I just stayed there as I am cheap)There are plenty of canals to be seen with all kinds of vessels. If you are lucky there might be a street fair close by to wander through.Of Course on the old side is the Red Light district with the chicks in the windows. If you have never seen such it is worth a look .The "Coffee" bars are what you would expect. If you get up to Haarlem the Cathedral is amazing.Plus there is a Lime Green original Mini Cooper that is not for sale ,but cool to look over. The guy who runs the Golden Tulip owns it.Have fun it is a neat place.
