Thanks, Harry and Ben,
I feel a bit better now as EVERYONE and EVERY bird were down at the creek this AM where I take bird pictures sometimes.
I think I got some qualifiers and a few for me! STORKS! Had to do a few close ups of the storks.
I really should do that scenic over again. While tarnishing the wing of the bird, taking the shine off you all know, I think I did something funny to the other colors in the process.
But it does work. There were so few birds yesterday, so few anything. That bird was angry I was where the bird wanted to be. It took to flying circles, wide circles, behind trees etc. I got that on one of its circles. It is always nice when I accidentally get a nice horizon in the camera.
ginger (thanks again for stopping and commenting.)
I can see the point of leveling the playing field as far as the close ups and long glass. But that picture above, I got because my camera has that continuous shooting, the burst thing, and others can do longer bursts). I know it isn't popular to say, but I think it is hard to make a level playing field, exactly. Equipment does make a difference, IMO. However, if one wants to "play" one learns to make the most of what one has. I do better long shots than I do really close, one of the reasons, not the total, but one is equipment. That can be an advantage, too, as I look at Humungus' photography since he had to discipline himself with whatever he had before the dslr. Etc.
