I know ND's are for making falls and swift water look like angel hair.
Besides night time "traffic motion" photography what else can they be used for?

Just curious cuz I have never used ND's much.
I'm always hunting for new ideas and learning experiances.:D

Here's a link (http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/User-Guide/filter/filter-ND.html) which explains it pretty good
Just be careful some filters add color
And another one link (http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/content/2003/aug/howto_graduated.html)

Great info about how the filters work! :thumb

Still curious as to what alternative photography PPL have used them for.:scratch

After viewing the link I didn't realize that I could use ND to force a "blurry" background, as in isolating an object against the background like the statue against the trees.

Hmmm.... thanks for the food for thought. Now if I can just remember it!

I knew about slowing the shutter to make a blur, just never twisted my mind and stretched to give it the other application!

Thanks for the link!!! Now I'm less "dense" :rofl
