A rare bird indeed

Ok so maybe not rare.... but sure rare in these parts!

They are considered extremely rare migrants here in oklahoma, and I found not one, but a pair at a local lake.

Spotted them sitting in a tree on the way home after a family picnic... dad was driving and he actually turned around for me so I could take pics of them... but as soon as we drove by they took to wing. I swung the camera and got lucky with this shot! Didn't notice till later that I'd caught him/her with dinner! :thumb

I've gone back a couple of times to see if I could spot them again but no luck so far.... they might have migrated on out.

Good capture, epecially since you don't have any long glass (yet). Its interesting how they turn their catch straight ahead to cut down on wind resistance,
