Hi you'll,

As a kid growing up in NYC I often heard stories of there being alligators in our sewer system. The legend said that the tiny pet gators found their way there after their owners flushed them away when they started to get too big.

Well I was reading my newspaper this morning when I saw this strange pic.

It was a pic of a 6 foot gator that got swallowed by a 13 foot python. The gator burst through the python and both died.

Pythons have been making inroads into the Evergaldes system. They got there when their owner discarded then there after they started to get too big. In the last 2 years over 150 pythons have been captured.

I'm sorry that our TV news didn't cover it.

Thanks for the update Max. the scary part is that the whole problem got started by a few idiots who discarded their snakes that they should never had bought in the first place.

Hi Gus,

I would want more than your knife if I came upon a 13 foot python in the wild. I would prefer my old grenade launcher from Vietnam. :rambo

I'm glad we don't have snakes, alligators or three headed fire breathing dragons over here on the Gulf coast of Florida. We just have the notorious Q-tips and Blue Hairs. :huh :rofl

In winter here they will slither up into car engine bays to keep warm. Had a friend get wrapped up with one we were removing to a safe place & it took 3 of us to get it off him. I was not that far from cutting it to free him as things got out of hand a bit. They have some real serious muscle power !
