I'm still at the very early stages of building up my glass collection. And with each L lens being thus far far beyond my financial reach:dunno I'm looking at something I can afford now and what would be a nice walk-around lens.
I'm thinking of the getting EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. It seems to be within my $ cap, focal range looks very close to the one of 828, which I love (even though it would be a bit on a tele side due to the 20D's FOV 1.6 crop factor).

Can somebody please provide some hands-on feedback about this particular piece of equipment?

Thanks a lot!:thumb

Nik - I bought one for Nightingale and she never lets me borrow it - She gets great results with it too. So that is a second very positive note! I think it is agreat walk -around lens - not so large, or so white, as to be as off-putting for casual candids either!!

Maybe you could borrow Nightingales? If NG does not let even PF (who happened to be her hubby) use it, how could it possibly work across a couple ot the time zones with a total stranger:-)?

irony 1 |??r?n?; ?i?rn?| noun ( pl. -nies) the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect : “Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony. See note at wit . • a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result : [with clause ] the irony is that I thought he could help me. • (also dramatic or tragic irony) a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.

;) Cheer up, Nik, I almost put the definition for gullible!

But I guess my command of English language was severely affected by a very late night (was processing the pikchas from TOHS hosted band competition), so *my* irony went unnoticed:-)
Cheers, mate! :1drink
