View Full Version : Crash course in home printing please

So I recently set up my Epson Artisan 725 and I am happy with the prints it is already producing. I want to know how to improve though.

I am using PS CS5 and/or Lightroom 3. Above mentioned Artisan 725 (soon likely constant ink). Also have a Spyder 2 for monitor calibration.
I know the monitor calibration is not the greatest, but I am willing to do trial and error things as well if need be.

I am getting good results with having the printer take care of colours. I think most serious at home printers are taking control of colour correction for printing though. So I want to at least get a beginning understanding of what is going on and how to control things.

Get a copy of "Fine Art Printing for Photographers" by Uwe Steinmueller and Juergern Gulbins.

Everything you need to know (and do) is in there!

After you have read their book and done their set up, if you have specific questions, come on back and folks will be happy to answer them.

Or you can have smugmug do your prints for you on line.
