I bought this from windoze, and I just don't use it. Much as I'd like to, I just don't have that much time to shoot, and when I do it's not macros.

So here's windoze's original post

This lens is mint mint mint, you'd be hard pressed to distinguish this from new. THe Hood is included!!! Box, all docs included!

The us model sells at b&h for $470 less a $20 rebate so the going price is $450 for new.

i'm selling it for only $400, which includes the hood, and shipping in the continental us.
payment terms: cash, personal check (with references), bank check, or paypal (you pay 3% fee).

With this lens - you'll see all the and you've dreamed about.

Nothing's changed about the lens. It's been snuggled safely in my bag. I've used it twice.

I'll sell it under the same terms that I bought it for, knocking $20 off. So it's $380, shipped to continental US. If you pick it up (Nik ;) ;) I'll knock off $10 for shipping.

Yep i know its a lose up but was wondering what else it is good at ?

Like sunsets etc...stuff that would look diff with some detail if that is what it does. :dunno Just wondered if anyone has done anything really different with one.

The unlimited creativity of your mind.

Some use it for portrait shots, though it's sharpness may not always be desired for this since it will show every nook and cranny of one's mug.:D

It's also great for still life shots and detailed product photography. I even used it for a landscape shot once. I'm at work, I'll post it when I get home.

Do understand though, it's a macro lens and it demands light when auto focusing. Without a lot of light, you will need to manual focus.

Gus...question a minuiteI've got a sigma 105 2.8 macro and use it for everything that needs a relatively short tele and moderately fast speed (faster than my Nikon kit zoom) - recently used it for some theater stage shots.

http://cs-pics.smugmug.com/photos/29458016-M.jpg

Only problem with using many macro lenses as a "normal" prime short tele lens is that they have a long focusing range and can be a little slow autofocusing. Mine is one of the ones that's a slower focusing piece of glass - usually not a big problem for me. Not sure about the Canon 100 Macro though.
