I got into photography about 4 months ago. I tend to favor close ups. Here are a few of my best shots taken with a D-rebel with a +3 macro filter. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL Size: 3272x2248 Bytes: 548750 Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 100 Focal Length: 39mm (guess: 42mm in 35mm) Exposure Time: 0.0031s (1/320)

I like the last one. Not everythnig needs to be sharp. The comp on this and colors really work well.

However, close ups like the above two should be sharp. The closer you are to something, the thinner the DOF. You need a small aperture to get it all in focus.

The second shot should of used ISO 100 as opposed to the 400. With a shutter speed of 1\1600 it's still over exposed.

In macros I suggest using manual mode, and try to get the smallest aperture you can balanced against the exposure. There are many macro masters here that can help more.

Hay thanks for the advise, I'll try playing with AV to get more DOF and I just got a tripod. I checked out your website, looks great. I like the colorful logo on black background. The pic of the light bulb is one of my favorites, I've been trying to shoot one like that with out much luck. Once again Thanks.I like the last one. Not everythnig needs to be sharp.
