Well, I think it's a beautiful profile of your daughter! In my opinion though, I don't think there's enough of your wife to really make her identifiable. It might have been more effective if perhaps half of her face were shown, looking towards your daughter, and also have your wifes face OOF so the center of focus was on your daughter.
Also, the bright hat is a little distracting.
It looks like you have good models to work with and you should keep shooting different compositions and angles!

I really like the profile of your daughter.. and I like the idea with your wife .. But like someone mentioned I just wish there was more of your wife visible. It's a really sweet picture though and a good one for the family photo album. Jamie.
