Five of us went to one of two local quarries that have closed and been turned into climbing areas (Perth is quite flat so this is where we climb!). The weather was spot on and the climbs were pretty good too.

Clipping the first bolt

It just follows the crack all the way up!

Shooting from the same vantage point

Almost at the topout, unfortunately there is just too much of a contrast from shaded rock to bright sunny day to show the actual topout.

A tricky boulder problem nearby

There are plenty more but i won't hold you up any longer, but to say it was a good day spent with good friends.
All comments and critque welcomed

a bolted crack ??? :huh tell me there's something I'm missing :scratch

cool shots of the boulder problem too, looks gnarly.

Hooray for rock (and here's to making the most of it before it gets too cold ... Korean winter ETA 1.5 months :cry)

:D

Nice set Mushy :thumb :thumb

I really like the 5th shot. He's dangling and all those helping hands reaching up from the lower right of the frame :clap I like the angle on this one too :D

Haha, good stuff there. I just got back inside after being rained off some aid climbing on the worst crag in North America (so rated by Climbing Mag). Good times even though everything I have is soaked now. Gotta love it! And your season is going strong while ours here in AK is just about over. *sigh*

Good point, but the fact that its an x-quarry and the reason it gets the crack lines etc is not from thousands of years of erosion but from being blasted which makes it some what unsafe to take falls from gear placements.
Cheers for the comments though!

hmm yeah our urban crag in Brisvegas (Kangaroo Point) is an old quarry, and if that crack is only a blast scar like most at KP ... bolts were definately a good idea :D.

Personally I have no real problem with ridiculous bolting practices at manufactured crags (i.e. Quarries) - honestly what is being ruined for anyone ?

still getting colder here.
