View Full Version : Inconsistencies with logged in user state

I have two pro accounts. Before the update, if I were to log into one, and then navigate to the other, my user state followed, I was still logged into the first account and could collect photos, etc. When I would log out, it would completely log me out regardless of which site I was on.

After update, it is inconsistent. I can log into one account, and when I navigate to the other site, I have to log in again. Sometimes I have to log in more than once in order for my user state to recognize me so I can collect photos.

Also, when I log out on one site, if I navigate to the other I am still logged in and I have to log out again.

I am using Chrome, and I cleared my history and cookies and can still replicate this odd behavior.

I just replicated this behavior in firefox. Steps to reproduce:

1. Log into pro account A (www.crsgymphotos.com) - verified I'm logged in by going to control panel
2. Navigate to pro account B (www.adamcartwright.com) - I am no longer logged in??
3. Navigate to a gallery - not logged in, can't collect photo
4. Click login link on footer, log in using credentials from pro account A
5. Returned to same gallery - STILL not logged in, can't collect photo
6. Click login link on footer, immediately returned to Gallery, don't need to input credentials, NOW I am logged in and can collect photos.
7. Click the logout link on footer. I am logged out of the site pro account B
8. Navigate to pro account A, I am still logged in (even though I just logged out when on pro account B). - verified I'm logged in by going to control panel
9. Logout using link on footer - NOW I am logged out.

Hope that helps. This is NOT the behavior I experienced before the last update.

Hi Ako,

We're sorry for any trouble with the new login process. We are noticing that some people aren't remaining logged in and that the login information isn't pre-filling like it used to. We're checking on both of these issues right now and hope to have an answer for you soon.

In the meantime could you try something out?

1. Go to your Account A http://www.crsgymphotos.com/ and make sure you're logged in.

2.Then, go to pro Account B http://www.adamcartwright.com/

3. Look at your footer, is it saying login? If so, please try clicking on the refresh button in your browser. Now, that should have refreshed your cookies to tell the browser that you're still logged in to Account A.

4. Navigate to a gallery and try to collect a photo.

The need to refresh the browser with custom hostname accounts has been around prior to the update but, it looks like the cookies are even pickier now. If you can try the above and let me know how if that works I'll get the information to the sorcerers so they can investigate.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, we are always happy to help!

Regards,

Yes, hitting refresh does reset the cookie or whatever. Thanks - its a work around for now for not having to login again to collect photos.

One other "feature" that I am experiencing now is that I can be logged into both accounts at the same time - if I navigate from one to the other, click refresh like you say, I'm okay. But if I logout from one, and re-login using the other account's credentials, when I switch back and forth between sites my user context changes to the user I logged in as to that particular site (if that doesn't make sense I can explain better... it's early).

Hi, for those with two accounts, we've never recommended doing this in one browser. There's too much confusion possible :D

With two accounts, always use two browsers, then there's no chance of cookie conflict (with customizing, pricing, carts, more). Or, if you wish to use only one browser, you'd have to log out of one account, and log in to the other. Holler for help if you need it!

In line with this thread of problems in user state, since early Oct. 1, I am frequently getting the new "Verify Login" request (the one with the optional Facebook message at the top). I am definitely logged in when it happens. Refreshing and clearing the browser doesn't help.

I've noticed it happens a lot (but not only) when I try to go to my Advanced Customization via the Control Panel. I have one computer, one monitor.
So please add me to the list of those affected. Thanks, Andy.
