Any idea what could be causing this?
Just gone to complete an upload now and its coming up with that message. Had no problems in the past.

Hi Nish,
The MTS files in question may be using specific settings we don't support or might be slightly corrupted allowing you to still play them back, but making our system choke. I'd recommend you to convert the files that aren't accepted using MPEG Streamclip. A good guide can be found here:
http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/2009/11/02/converting-that-h264-footage/
Or if you're on Windows, you can also use the free hd converter tool from Koyote soft (http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html).

Thanks for the reply.
Im using MPEG Streamclip. Do you know if the Koyote software is better?

I think I got that error when the files were larger than 1GB. Can you see if this is the case?

Hi
No all of the ones failing are actually very small files.

Are they smaller than our minimum resolution of 320x240? If so that may be the issue.

Coincidentally, or not, I'm getting the exactly same error right now. I've uploaded countless videos in this same format before without ever seeing this error. My clip is 9:59 long, but I think the limit on my account is 10 minutes, so that should be the issue. The video is 1280x720/24p, rendered using the same software (Vegas Pro) that I always use.
The file could have become corrupted I guess, but I just thought it was odd that someone had posted the exact same problem today. :scratch

Hi,
Some applications inaccurately report the actual video length. If it's close to 10:00, you might try trimming it by a few seconds because it could actually be over 10 minutes but not displayed 100% accurately by whatever application you are using.

That's what I'm trying now...I was thinking that was probably pushing it too close with this one. 00:09:59.23 in my NLE to be exact. :D
Thanks!

Yep, that's fixed my ""Error uploading: Wrong format ()"...I cut my video down from 09:59.23 to 09:56.00, and it worked!

I too am having the "error uploading" problem. I am using Vegas Pro 9e. My video is only about 5 minutes long. I am rendering to AVC 720p30. I have rendered it three time using exactly the same settings. Two of the three uploads resulted in the error uploading message. Over the past couple of months I have rendered about 10 other videos using the same settngs and they uploaded properly. This is frustrating becauxe of the long upload time just to find this very non-descriptive error. It seems to me something on the SM side has changed since my earlier uploads worked. Is it possible to at least have the error message give some indication of what the problem was?

Hi Teetime, I'm not sure what's possible in that respect but I encourage you to also post it here as well:

Tristan (and others that may have this problem): I tried the old faithful uploader and it worked with it - I had been using the simple uploader. I also received a response from the support heroes that the problem with simple uploader is corrected with a java update. I've applied the update but haven't tried simple again.

I'm getting this same error using all the different uploaders and browsers. AVI format has always worked for me in the past. See attached screenshots.

I figured it out. My wife mistakenly set her camera video settings to "compact mode" (resolution 160x120).
