Spent the morning crawling up to get a little closer to our local shorebirds and I'd like to share some of my captures.

American Avocet in flight. (Lighting not so great)

Black-necked Stilt. I think I got the exposure better on this guy this AM, kinda boring back-ground though.

American Avocet- these guys are a lot prettier in their breeding plumage.

2 White-faced Ibis in flight. These guys look very similar to the Glossy Ibis, however I don't believe the Glossy gets this far Northwest.

Nice set Steve
#2 & 3 have that nice catch light in the eye which gives life to your image. Not easy to do and you done good :thumb

Steve now these are really nice -sharp [i had to look the word up still have not found it in my camera ] great color detail :thumb

Very good set with the Ibis bif the strongest shot. :clap The avocet and stilt are a wee bit OE.

Thanks Jeff. I think selective sharpening really helps a lot of these bird images.

Very good set with the Ibis bif the strongest shot. :clap The avocet and stilt are a wee bit OE. Thanks for the comments Harry. What do you think of this version of the stilt. I knocked the exposure down in RAW -.25. Would you go more to the whole image or just darken the white breast?

Thanks Jeff. I think selective sharpening really helps a lot of these bird images.now that would be a good tutotrail, selective sharpening .I still do very little to my stuff but this wold be good to know

...that skitter along right out our back door. They are differant...what a call!
