Took a little trip up there last week. Got some good shots… among some middling weather (though from what I hear, _great_ for this year!).

Gallery is Here. (http://blloyd.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Alaska-August-2010/)

Nice work and the variety of shots in this collection is what makes this stand out.

I love this one, but I almost wish I couldn't see the reflection of the fence in his eye. It would have been twice as show-stopping if you got this shot in the wild.

#1, 4, and 5 are outstanding. Love the out of the box thinking on the compositions!

Thanks! That's actually glacier ice… Exit glacier just north of Seward. The pic lower down is on Matanuska glacier about 1.5 hours north of Anchorage.

Yeah, part of me likes the leading lines of the fence in the eye. Other part thinks maybe I could clone them out. I guess if I had CS5 I could use content aware fill and that might have a chance of getting rid of the lines without losing sharpness in the eye. Guess I could try Aperture's healing tool as it's pretty good (lots better than Lightroom's stamp at the moment).

Good stuff Bill. Especially the fall color and the glacial ice!

Nice series. The eye really catches the ... eye. Great shot.
And I am always a sucker for glaciers.
