And this is what I did with it.

I saw everything I have come to expect lately. Well I don't really expect it but all the birds seemed to cooperate very nicely today, even the Kingfisher.

Green Heron I spooked because I didn't see it hiding 20 feet from me.

Then the Kingfisher showed up just as the GH left, how thoughtful of it. I can't believe I'm saying this but I need more reach.http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/mwink.gif

Then off to find the Night Heron, which by the way I found out tonight is not always the same one. For the first time I saw two of them along with the Green Heron and a GBH at sunset by the dam.

Then I found my Great Blue Heron budy perched nicely in the same spot he was in Sunday. I again had to crawl on the ground to get to my hiding spot behind a large tree trunk.

The sun was going down and getting too dark to shoot anymore so I got a couple shots of the beautiful sunset and called it a day.

They may not be as sharp as Harry or Bens but I'll take them anyday. I just wish everytime I go out could be as good as today. Now I just need to find some Ospreys http://dgrin.com/images/smilies/lol8.gifhttp://dgrin.com/images/smilies/yelrotflmao.gifhttp://dgrin.com/images/smilies/lol.gif.

Comments always welcome. Please critique me so I can learn to be better.

Nice Captures. That sunset is especially nice!

Those 2x Converters can often make your images softer. I am thinking of selling mine and going with a 1.4.

I knew the 2x would soften up my shots but it is something I'll deal with until I can afford a 400 Prime. I thought about the 1.4x but I don't think it would be worth it on just a 200mm. Thanks for looking, I appreciate the suggestion.

Good for ya and congrats :thumb
and ya got a Kingfisher, cool. Just starting to research these guys see if there around my parts.

Keep at it, but don't forget even with a 2X you need to still get as close as you safely can :D

The Kingfishers around me are very skitish. They rarely get closer than a couple hundred feet, or if they do they are very fast and just fly by. Good luck getting one!

Getting close is a major thing I still need to work on. I have to learn to wait patiently and not move around soo much. Well I have to learn a lot more than that but it's a start.
