So the 7D offers 720 50P or 1080 25/24P (PAL) and 720 60P or 1080 30/24P (NTSC).

Will it matter if I record in one of the NTSC modes, will it not play on a PAL region TV?

Some people say you reduce the jello effect by shooting in 720 50P, is this correct, and if so would it be the same benefit to downres a 1080 25P file in the computer?

From what I understand the camera always records 1080 and resamples it in camera to 720 if that's your setting. Some say this resampling will turn out better if done in the computer, is that true?

Can a 720 50P be upscaled in the computer to a 1080 25P as if it was shot that way? The reason I ask is because the two modes generate exactly the same filesize.

What mode do you use? Do you resample it in the computer, and if so, what resolution/framerate/bitrate do you upload to SmugMug?

Thanks!

Malte

I can't help you with the details but I've just tried out the using video with my 7D. I did 1080/30 and was able to upload the file the camera made as is to SmugMug. The Cinema5d.com site focuses on 5D and 7D video. There is quite a bit of info in the threads there.

Yeah I've uploaded successfully too, in 1080 25P.
