I saw this solo Cattail flower standing up against the mountain on my way to capture some birds yesterday morning and thought it would make a nice shot. I was happy with the picture, but I'd like to know what others think.

first of all, the colors are magnificent :bow
now for the other aspects of the picture. The composition is nice, but as you can tell, nice isn't the entire story :D I'd probably would have wanted the cattail agains the blue skye, but that's my taste :D
Sharpness.. probably the biggest problem is the small size, but as far as I can see the detail and sharpness are missing on the cattail (I'm kind of a freak for details in these kinds of pictures)
I dig the slight diagonals!!
I hope this has given you more insights on how others might view the picture :D I would love to see this one in print though, I think it will make a great print!

I have to second that the colors are fabulous. Very warm. For me personally? I want to see more of the cattail. You composed this nicely by not putting the cattail in the center of the photo. Very nice!

The picture has a unique feature which in my mind I have not resolved yet if it is a pro or con. One one hand, the sprouts at the bottom of the cattail, enter the frame w/o us knowing where they came from, keeps me engaged and guessing. On the other hand, the sprouts at the bottom of the cattail, enter the frame w/o us knowing where they came from, keeps me engaged and guessing.
Nice colors.
