Lake Cachuma - Santa Barbara, CA Area

I am heading back to Lompoc, CA next week, and I am looking for a spot or 2 to take some landscape pics.

My plan is to drive by Lake Cachuma on the way to Lompoc from LA to scope out the north side of the lake.

Anyone familiar with the Lake area and have some recommendations?

I am looking for a fairly accessible place as I am trying to fit this in with my day job.

There is not alot of access to the lake unless you have a boat. The is a vista point near the dam if I remember right. It has been along time since I have been there. Now if you have a clear day the vista off the top of San Marcos pass is great.

The flower fields around Lompoc could be good too if it is the right time of the season.

I did not go up to the lake this time. I had a cold, so no energy.

I did get some nice shots out at the base from Honda Ridge.

Everything is very brown right now. The spring was beautiful.
