lots and lots of folks are going to need help. any amount of contribution will be gratefully accepted.
anyhow, i just made a donation to the american red cross (http://www.redcross.org/)
there are other sites, too.
this is not pressure - donate or not, your choice and your business.

whaddya want blood? well, yes, frankly! the red cross is desperately in need of blood.
so in addition to a financial contribution I also donated a pint today! I encourage everyone to do the same.
The nurse looked at me funny when, upon handing me a cup of orange juice, I stated my preference for a beer. :dunno

Yes, looked at the Red Cross site before bed last night also. Australia gave awsomely to the Tsunamia appeal, perception of it being closer to home and a poorer population. Heard on the radio this morning there will be an appeal here also for the hurricane, they got across that the assistance is for the needy, I hope it takes off.

A+ here. Do you know the orientals follow blood type the way Americans follow astrological signs? Anyway I get 2 hours off work with pay to donate. :> Give when I can.

I got an e-mail asking for $$$ for the victims, it was a phishing scam, liked me to an IP only address with typos on the page wanting my credit card info.
Be careful out there, the Internet is still the Wild Wild West.

What a horrible situation. I wish I had gone back to New Orleans sooner. I wonder what the future will hold. But in classic dragon style, I have to find the humor in this right..... Gotta look on the bright side.
I know now to never date a girl named Katrina.

Yes - the news is really patchy, even people interviewed on the spot are saying they aren't being told anything. An Australian musician working there has been told by musician friends in the area that Fats Domino had elected to stay, and cannot be found. Australia's little bit of donation assistance has jumped from just one radio station saying it would organise something, to it being taken over by our Disaster Relief organisation, and now again being overtaken with a statement by the Prime Minister. One of the big animal welfare groups here is also begging for help just for the thousands of lost stranded pets that had to be abandoned.

I just wanted to let everyone know that a lot of my friends have joined in this effort. Look at my smugmug bio and read the bottom part. We have decided to donate all of our profits from the sell of prints to the relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. Just check out my bio on my smugmug home page and the clickable links to all who have donated there profits also. You will be taken straight to their prints page and can view their prints and buy. If you don't want to buy a photo then that is fine. Give directly to the Red Cross like Andy has suggested or go to www.redcross.org.
Thanks to anyone willing to help.

I should add - about half the links work better with winamp, as opposed to windows media player. Or, maybe just mine.... anyhoo, they all seem to work on winamp. (wmp had some sort of plug in missing or something)
