I was on a photo-walk, waiting for the sun to go down so I could shoot some neon signs when I spotted this woman. I don't know why, but there's something about the empty chair in the background I like.

It helps suggest "day's end" or "desertion" and supports the theme of "aloneness" the homeless woman represents. Nice!

I agree, the lone chair adds to the effect. I like this shot a lot!

I like the chair too. Apart from "telling a story", it also serves as a counterweight, giving the image better balance.
