Anyone else wanna join me and GluWater for Mackinaw?

Mackinaw City/Island Photo Trip

We are going up thursday evening oct 6th, having all day friday, and saturday and some of sunday for shooting.

Things to photograph while we are there:

Mackinaw Bridge
Lighthouses
Arch Rock
The Grand Hotel
Skull Cave
Devils Kitchen
Another big rock that I can’t remember the name of
Nature
Landscapes
Old Military Forts
Historic wood mill
If we have time to go over the bridge to the up (this would be a three day kinda thing) there are some nice waterfalls.
Candid people shots
And plenty of other things.

You name it they got it. Steak, seafood, etc. And it is excellent. I always have to work out mroe when I get home from a mackinaw trip.

Give me one or two more days for an answer Gary. I just came back through there last Wednesday on a motorcycle trip with friends so I didn't get a chance to shoot pitchas. but the goods are there for great shots. No doubt about it. The maple leaves are already beginning to shade to red. The bridge will make for dynamite night shots. etc etc. I just gotta see tomorrow if I can escape from work - I will be travelling from Sept 14 - Sept 28 - riding the Rockies and looking at the Aspens fade to glory.

I'll have an answer no later than Wednesday.

How'd it go?

What glu said. This past weekend I didn't get to travel for fun. Instead I had a wedding saturday, went home, slept for a couple hours, got the gear ready again, got in a car drove to PA, Turned around, found the wedding location in ohio 5 minutes from the PA border, 30 Minutes from Pittsburg, 4.5 hours from where I live. Shot a small but excellent wedding, drove home, slept for 2 hours, woke up, went to the ren fest with friends (I so should have skipped this part). I didn't touch my camera yesterday, won't touch it today, but will start processing. So exhausted.

The deck has been cleared for takeoff after noon Thursday Oct 6 - SO I should make Mackinaw City by noon Friday and be able to shoot through Sunday evening. I do not really want to drive after dark on the freeway in upper Michigan. Too likely to meet Bambi up close and personal...

Glad you're joining us. I was in Indiana this weekend with family, in Buffalo right near Lake Shafer. I got some good shots of my cousins that I'll post later.

Gary I sure hope you didn't spend all the money you made at the wedding on gas gettting to and from it. I'm twitching right now to go out and shoot but I know I need to start processing and uploading what I have already. Oh decisions decisions.
