Even though I am a Nikon guy... a 0% FOV crop is really awesome. One reason why I will not by any Nikkor DX lenses (or avoid at medium costs, cause I realize that I am still in college and have not yet won the lottery:D )

it's important to note that this is a preview and not a full review.

I have to say I was at first dispointed with Canon for releasing another camera in the above $3,000 price range. After reading the reivew I'm more interested in the camera and now seems like a good fit for people who want a full frame camera at the least amount of money. It's not cheap but considering if you switch from 35mm film SLR to a cropped DSLR you will spend extra money on super wide angles, it's a fair price to pay.

The price will come down. Too bad they could not wait until Photokina and have it $2,999.

Unless they have other plans for Photokina...

lol you guys, just make the decision! Cropped DSLR's are not going away, and tons of pros have used and will continue to use them. Just like medium format and 35mm, both are equally acceptable, and equally lucrative for working pros. So everybody just needs to decide, to use cropped factor bodies or FF bodies. Don't be afraid of cropped bodies, if they're your cup of tea then go to town and buy that cropped glass. For someone like myself who still shoots BOTH 35mm film and cropped DSLR, there are still things like the Sigma 12-24, of course.

Enjoy and good luck, all ye who can afford expensive cameras, http://www.digitalgrin.com/images/smilies/rolleyes1.gif

I don't think we see photokina until September of 2006.
