Immediately when the lens came I took the dogs out to the soggy backyard. I really wanted a photo of Skye's birthday, have one for every other year, and I always try out new lenses on them.
This lens, the dogs have to be at the back of the yard. They do not understand this. So I threw treats, the kind they love but are allergic to. Besides the snarling fights, it let to a lot of sniffing ground behavior. I had no control, in my mind, over anything. I was aware that I should focus on the eyes, I just hoped to get part of the dog in the photo.
This is the only decent, or half way decent, shot of Skye. He was 4 yrs old yesterday. He is what is called my "heart" dog. I totally adore this dog. Not that I don't love the others, but Skye, he is special. And the first boy dog I have lived with.
ginger (OK, it is probably soft, but Happy Birthday/Barkday to Skye)
