The following:
Canon EOS 5D
Canon EOS 1D Mk II n
24-105 F/4 L IS
24-70 f/2.8 L IS (I think)
70-300 IS (v2)
I have photos to prove it, i'll post them as I process the RAW files.
Andy... and to anyone else who pre-paid for the 5D... You won't be dissappointed.
If photography was sex, shooting with this camera is like having the woman of your dreams, finding out she's a nympho, and that she'll have your kids if you wanted such.
Anyone got questions about it? I can try to answer anything people ask for, I spent a good 30 minutes playing with it, along with a 2-hour training session on all of the new canon gear coming out (Printers, Camcorders, Point'n Shoot, and DSLR)
Off to process RAW files as quickly as possible. I promise no perfect photos... There was too many people to try to snap well.

most excellent analogy. the only way to improve on the analogy would be to substitue "sex" for "katz's deli pastrami sandwich." :lol3

so, how did the 24-105 feel? how was the zoom motion? the autofocus? the balance, weight on the 5D?
24-70 f/2.8 L I.S.??? are you sure?? that wasn't announced :D

I want to have sex, take a picture of the sandwich, and then eat the sandwich while her and I admire how great a shot of the sandwich I got with the 5D.:D :rofl :D

Now that I think about it, the 24-70 didn't have a unique ID tag on it, it's probably just a standard 24-70, and I just assumed it had IS.
The 24-105 is the katz' meow (:P) for full frame. The zoom was smooth, the AF was lightning fast, the balance was a little forward heavy, but the 5D is light, so maybe it's just that. It seemed OK with the magnesium grip. (They had 2 demos, one with, one without). I'd have stolen the lens and ran if everyone didn't know who I was. The AF seemed a bit sketchy in low light on the 1DmkIIn, but maybe it was just the camera's setup... I think it was a bit out of tune, and both models (5D and 1DmkIIn) were pre-production. They didn't even shoot RAW... just JPEG.
I almost walked out with sample shots, but the canon guy asked nicely that I not, and I respected, because I fully intend on asking the company to lend me a MkIIn for a project i've got in mind.
**RAW UPDATE**
Files copied, now to process! (be back in 5)

Cuddling after sex and looking at photos, and being with a woman that appreciates photography... *drool* if only such a thing existed!

This is what happens when you hand your camera with a flash to a non-photographer.

This is the 1DmkII n with some not-so-sexy glass on it. (it deserved at least a black-L lens...

5D with 24-105. Sexy plexy! :lust... *swoon*. Such a perfect combo with the grip.

A slide from the show that particularly amused me...
(the whole slideshow was a blast though, the marketing guys are stand-up commedians hidden in cube farms, I swear!)
... I hope this has been an enjoyable journey. Shoulda snapped more shots, I apologise for the noise (800-iso RAW), and bad exposure. The lighting was sh*t, and I'm still not 100% in tune with my flash (that, or drooling too much to notice my shutter speeds were around 1/15th... blurry galore!)

Nono, the first post was proper.
I did the second post the way I did so you could copy-paste.
Crap, now every time this page loads, it loads 2 copies of each photo. I gotta re-break that second post.

I wonder if the 5D is the start of a new breed, like the D30 was. And now the D30 has lost 80% of its original value!

Did you buy the DG Super or the DG ST? From what I read, the 430 won't master, only slave. If thats the case, I'm glad I bought the super and I actually can't wait to make one of these my slave. :D

DG Super baby ;-)
Got an amazing price too...
I was kidding about the 430, but still. Now I can get lots of cheap 420's to slave to my 500 DG Supah!

How did the 70-300 preform?
Is the focusing faster?
If you took any pics and chimped,(with the 70-300) how did they look?

The 70-300 wast faster, but was still slow as hell. I'd still take the 70-200 f/4L over it.

:super The supah is a pretty good deal to begin with, what did it set you back if you don't mind?
I like the idea of all those cheap 420 slaves, what are the advantages of the 430 over the 420? It also seems a bit smaller than the supah, and I thought about using it as my main flash when I don't need more than one.

The DG Super set me back 285$CDN + tax.
Don't ask if it's not obvious enough ;)

My 20D (obviously not full-frame) has tired of its 28-135 IS lens and yearns for better normal-range glass ... so I pre-ordered a 24-105 f/4L IS USM a few days ago. Its reach on the long end is a little short for me, but I'm hoping the better glass will overshadow that little shortcoming. In your humble opinion, based on your brief exposure to it, where does it fall on the scale of 0=disappointing to 10=photo-orgasmic?
This will be my first L glass ...I've been led to believe that once I use it, I will be doomed to L for all eternity. Kinda scary ;-).
