Good evening folks. Just got around to PP some of my very first shots with the (then) new Canon 20D. These were taken at Sarasota Jungle Gardens back in late April. Neat place to visit if you like birds. These great blue herons and egret were busy looking for free dinner. I almost blew the exposures as I noticed the EXIF info points out an exposure compensation of +1/3... I didn't realize I had accidently set this setting. IT was pretty sunny that day. It's taken a while..but I've become more comfortable with this camera. Hopefully I have a better handle on things NOW.:dunno I guess I should be happy I have some shots from one of the first days with this new toy. :1drink

Thanks for checking them out.

Cheers

Thanks Ben. I wish I could shoot these over. I was unaware that I accidently pushed the EV up a couple notches. Wasn't familiar with "all" the bells and whistles of the new camera at the time. Really not a good idea to shoot white birds in sunlight with a +EV 1/3-1/2. Blew out highlights and detail. I hope to get back to Jungle Gardens again and shoot these birds all over again. :dunno

Becareful what button you push. :uhoh :thumb

Cheers

Not bad for a Canon. :rofl Congrats on your new camera, I'm sure you will enjoy it and get some great captures with it.

Thanks Harry. It's not such a new camera anymore. I've had it for 3-4 months now. It's not the age....but the milage (shutter use).:D I've probably used it just about every day since I got it. :clap ...even if it's just shooting in the backyard. :thumb It's nice to own several cameras (brands)....so I can't be singled out as a "brand preacher". :rofl I've even taken some nice shots with a Pentax, Yashica, and kodak. :dunno It must be the eye. :huh
