I am trying to embed videos into Facebook feeds/walls like You Tube videos.
I see that Facebook will allow it. This is what it says on their site:
I want videos shared from my website to play inline like You Tube videos. What do I need to do?
To embed your SWF files in Facebook, you first need to add meta tags to the files. Additionally, your site needs to be whitelisted. Complete this form (http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=video_embed_whitelist) to apply for the whitelist. Please note that your site must abide by all of the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (http://www.facebook.com/terms.php) on Facebook.
Is this something I can do on my own, or does SmugMug have to comply with Facebook? And if so, are there plans to do so?

I would love to see this implemented. Was a bit dissapointed when I realized that this was not supported.
Both youtube and vimeo support this.

Problem = Real example; my wife downloaded photos from my smug site and posted them on facebook "to share with people" as "people don't want to leave facebook.
This thread's suggestion + better FB integration would be a huge help for sharing our photos on facebook.
here's the way I see it: I want my photos on smugmug, NOT on facebook but people don't want to leave facebook. especialy without good reason. with custom domains not working on 'be social' e.g. my www.fluidpixel.com (http://www.fluidpixel.com) I have to manualy do it and with passworded galleries all my peeps see is the clustr maps image. SWF or similar integration would help immensly.

http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/ (http://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/) says "Facebook supports
embedding video in SWF format only."<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Attaching Audio and Video Data<o:p></o:p>
If you want to attach a video to your Open Graph page you can simply specify
a video url:<o:p></o:p>
- og:video - e.g., "http://example.com/awesome.swf" (http://example.com/awesome.swf%22)<o:p></o:p>
and optionally, you can add additional metadata<o:p></o:p>
- og:video:width - e.g. "385" (max 398)
- og:video:height - e.g. "400" (max 460)
- og:video:type - e.g. "application/x-shockwave-flash"<o:p></o:p>
Facebook supports embedding video in SWF format only. You must include a
valid og:image for your video to be displayed in the news feed.<o:p></o:p>
I know how to get the various sizes of .mp4s, but I tried adding .swf instead of .mp4 and it didn't work.
I saw the recent Feedback enhancement for Facebook but it said the Facebook API doesnt support Pages, only Profiles. Adding the .swf would go far to satisfy the Facebook Pages challenge.
I'm hoping for good news.
Thank you!

The only way to add a video that plays inline on Facebook is to "Like" your video. It then adds a playable video to your FB profile. So no you cannot add inline video to your Pages at this time. Liking a video is the only way to get this to work at this time.
