I am running Firefox 3.6.6 and can't seem to play my videos directly from my smugmug site.. interestingly enough.. one of my videos which is linked on my blog page will play in Firefox when played from my blog page, but not when played straight from Smugmug. (not sure why??) Additionally, they all play ok in Internet explorer v8.0.6. Has anybody heard of this problem or know why I am having this issue?? this is a new problem
here are a few links to check: http://brianboingphotography.smugmug.com/People/Fashion/Caetlyn-Video-Slideshow/12716823_nAGsz#915327688_Lt7Ar
Thanks!

Try going here and updating your flash player.

Well thanks Andy.... But that did not solve the issue. ???? I didn't have this issue before... but I can't really recall when the last time I checked was. I do prefer Firefox as a browser choice and would love to keep using it for my smugmug site.. Everything else seems to work with smugmug.. even the slideshow displays of all my stills.. which I assume is flash?? the only thing not working is my video playback. I have a video on my blog which is a linked video from smugmug at : http://brianboing.com/wordpress/?paged=3 which plays fine in Firefox when I click on it through my blog site.. but when I navigate to the same video directly on my smugmug site ( http://brianboingphotography.smugmug.com/Other/Animoto/10057486_QUqMw#689548029_2ZuMu-A-LB ) ... it wont play!.. doesn't make sense to me..?

I just upgraded my Windows 7, Firefox to 3.6.6 and it plays this video just fine:

I suspect one of your addons, is the culprit.

well .. I will try to disable them and let you know what happens... however, I feel as if it is something with my own smugmug site since I can view videos on other smugmug members sites...?? how is this possible?

I am not sure why you would be able to see the videos on other sites unless your cached version from your site is broken and is not reloading when you visit it. You mention that IE is working so I also think that it might be an addon. Any add on that interacts with the flash, or media files can be a culprit. I see you have a flash downloader so I would start with disabling it as a test. You might also check your extensions list to see if something besides adobe flash player is assigned to play flash content or media files like mp4. I don't see it on the list you sent but Real Player is really bad about that.

So I went ahead and disabled them... (all my plugins and extensions) and no change!? Well, almost no change... now I cant play other peoples video as well. I do however get a message that says: "Holy HTTP, Batman! You need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player to view the show!".. I think the important difference here is that when I go to my own videos and try to press play... nothing happens. In other words I don't get this message. So to sum it up: with other peoples videos with or without the flash player installed..something happens. whereas with my own videos...nothing happens either way.. I get no message or no video player to pop up. Something that is specific to how my browser interacts with my website in particular. I also tried clearing out everything in my history... but that didn't help.
Help...
Thanks again in advance.

OK.. here is the latest discovery: When I log out of my site or view it in visitor mode I can view my videos... but when I am logged in I cannot. Something is up with with the settings on Smugmug.
Continued help appreciated.
thanks.

Can you go to your Firefox Preverences and click on the applications tab. Scroll down to media files and tell me what is listed as the option?

one more thing... when I have viewed my videos in visitor mode if I try to switch back to owner view I get a error message that says: "Preview mode failed, please refresh and try again." definitely sounding like a smugmug glitch.

OK... I think I am definitely having errors with smugmug. I thought this was just a firefox problem... but I have the same issue with internet explorer WHEN I am logged into my smugmug account but it gives me a small error on this page message which when clicked on gives me the following details:

I'm having a similar (and yet different problem).
Firefox (Mac OS) will not show me my video via my SmugMug site at all, whether logged in or not.
The view screen is white. I do get audio however.
Firefox version 3.6.3. OSX Tiger 10.4.11.
Safari plays it just fine.
Page is here (http://justmytype.smugmug.com/Videos).
BTW, the last thing I want to do is thread-jack. If that's the case just let me know and I'll create another thread.
