G'day Gil...for me too much of the shot is dark. I would like to see more coloured sky.

I think you have captured a beautiful sky very well, but the parking lot and fence do not add to the scene. I find the lines on the lot and the fence line very distracting.

My monitor must be on the way out...i can only just make that fence out now that you mentioned it.

With a great sky like that you need to take in more of it in the image and less of the dark stuff you can't see anyway. Usually having some of the black is ok if you are including the sillouette of a recognizable shape. Here, the top of the trees would have given enough of a frame to make a sky shot great.

Thanks for all critique. I have posted another picture taken of the same sunset but zoomed in some so the trees and foreground aren't seen as much. I had taken these shots handheld from a car (stopped briefly). I didn't have time to set up my equipment and take as many photos as I wanted because I was wat work.

Here is the thread for the other photo... http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=17283

Thanks again for the replies.

Your second shot captures more of that gorgeous Kansas sky.
