This weekend I decided to take on a challenge and see what I could come up with near my home. The rules were I couldn't go to the Twin Cites, it had to be a new location and I couldn't go beyond 25 miles from my home.

So on Sunday morning, me and my trusty photo dog, Barkley loaded up the Armada and covered all the backroads we could before the weather got bad. Below, are a few images we came away with.

The round barns are amazing. I've not seen many of them (there is a horse barn at one of the state parks here).

I haven't been on this site in some time but am so glad I checked tonight. I absolutely love the churches and barns. Great images! Thanks for posting.

What a great idea for a "journey!" You found some wonderful spots and came away with very nice images. The last two are my favorites, but I like the color and lighting in all of them. Nice job!

Totally agree. A great idea. We all forget about the beauty right around us assuming we have to travel around the globe to "see the sights".

A fun thing to add to it is a time limit on driving, basically I will drive X minutes stop and then go and see what I can find in that location to shoot.

Adam,

Great idea and great images! Home can be one of the toughest shoots and best places for photos.
