Shopping for a Monitor - Advice?

I am going to get a new monitor, and would love some feedback on what size, brand, etc that works well for images. I do some cropping, color correction, etc, and most of my photographs are nature, wildlife oriented more than people. Is it more about calibration? Any feedback would be welcome!! Thanks
